Return to article: How to Wrap a Birthday Gift
on 9/2/2008 It's fun to unwrap gifts, too.
on 3/19/2008 I have wrapped gifts several times... but some how never managed to get it neatly wrapped... next time will keep these points in mind... also liked "Consider using comics or newspaper to wrap your present;" this suggestion thanks for sharing :)
on 1/25/2008 Nice step-by-step on this one! I always like to mix up the textures when I'm wrapping presents by using funky wall paper, a t-shirt, old christmas sweaters, tin foil, candy wrappers, etc. Then instead of just topping it with a bow or ribbon add a little extra something like tie on a tree ornament, a car air-freshner, a keychain, socks, anything small and simple that compliments the theme of the gift...maybe tie on a clue (if you're giving them a gym membership, tie on a sweat band). Happy Wrapping!
on 12/2/2007 I like the idea for measuring with string especially! You may have just saved me a bundle of paper as I always eye ball it wrong! ;)
on 11/29/2007 This is very timely. Makes it all seem simple. I kind of eyeball the package size and measure it with the paper.
on 11/29/2007 On many occasions, I used plain craft or newsprint paper and made the wrapping stand out with fancy ribbons and decorative trinkets on the bow. Wide and long felt ribbons are great. I've also used natural materials like raffia, and various types of knitting yarn. I tie dried botanical ornaments, beads, or paper craft items to add accent to the ribbons. A personal touch always makes the gift unique, and the recipient special.
on 11/11/2007 These are great steps, should help people who feel overwhelmed with gift wrapping. :)
on 10/12/2007 I have found that home made wrapping paper is fun and easy. I have my 3 year old help me with paper chart papers, give her a few colors and she goes wild and the results are awesome. on 4/4/2006 When wrapping a gift box, I like to use pre-shredded co-ordinating colored tissue paper to package it securely, as well as preventing damage to the gift. It looks much better than a gift floating around in the box.
