on 6/6/2008 Work part time in a restaurant or fast food business, they also give you a free meal as a perk when you work at an establishment like this.
on 6/5/2008 Another5 great tip is buy older addition textbooks. Most of the time I find my books for less than $5 a pop. The publisher changes one tiny thing or rearranges the chapters, then charges $200 for a book. :( I buy from amazon.com --- Visit my page to read my article "Creative ways to make money"
on 6/3/2008 I REGULARLY buy over $100 in groceries for less than $10 by using coupons. It really works! Take a look at my articles where I share how I do it: http://www.ehow.com/members/momandpopoften-articles.html
on 6/3/2008 If you live off-campus, cook for other students for a fee! I REGULARLY buy over $100 in groceries for less than $10 using coupons. Take a look at my articles where I share how I do it: http://www.ehow.com/members/momandpopoften-articles.html
on 2/19/2007 One of my biggest expenses was always books... and my campus bookstore was notorious for gouging students with rediculously priced texts. I learned that you will always be able to find savings online, particularly with used copies of your books. There are a bunch of great online bookstores to check out, so your best bet is to use a price comparison search engine like Textbook411.com (my favorite) It instantly finds you the cheapest copy of whatever book you are looking for. Saves time and a lot of money! Its the way to go for textbook shopping. http://www.textbook411.com
on 1/31/2006 If you are going out for an evening, only take money that you can afford to spend. Don't take extra "just in case" money. You'll spend it for more important things later.
on 11/22/2005 Go to eBay to find those cute expensive clothes for cheap! Abercrombie and Fitch and Hollister all have clothes on eBay that will keep you looking good and save you cash!
on 11/22/2005 Restaurants in college towns love the students. Find out student specials and when you want to go out to eat, try to go on night where deals are going on, like half price burgers, buy one get one free subs, etc.
on 11/22/2005 Most campuses have survey's and such they will pay you to take. Take advantage of these little ways not to only get a couple bucks for very little work but help out your faculty. And if you're not faint of heart- there is always donating plasma.
on 11/22/2005 We all know that meals (as well as beverages) sold at the university can be quite expensive. Instead of going hungry all through the day, why not grab a few brown rolls, a jar of peanut butter, and a bunch of bananas and make the ultimate sandwich. Not only will this sandwich fill you up for most of the day, but it is also full of nutrients that will keep your strength up.
on 11/22/2005 If you are sure you'll be taking a particular course next semester, contact the instructor and see if the same textbooks will be required as this semester. Buy books from friends, or online, at the end of the current semester. Students will be getting rid of their books cheap!
on 11/22/2005 Before you buy something you don't need, think of your last job, and remember the amount of time it took you to earn the money for what the thing costs. Ask yourself if it's worth "x" number of hours doing the worst part of your job. If you still want to buy it, I guess it's good.
on 11/22/2005 NEVER pay FULL price! Everything goes on sale, so wait for the sale. Check sale ads or go to www.saleshound.com. Also, shop at places like Ross, Marshalls, and other discount stores.
on 11/22/2005 cook more than you need and either freeze it or share it. It's often cheaper to cook for two than it is to cook for one. Find a friend who doesn't mind playing food swap. That way you won't get bored with leftovers. I ususally cook twice a week for two of my friends, and they make me food on other days. This really helps me to eat healthy, inexpensivly, and without having to worry about it on Tuesday nights when I have class from noon 'til nine.
on 11/22/2005 If you live with your parents, even if it's just for the summer, they can declare you as dependants. Instead, move out. Then apply for Federal grants. You can recieve thousands of dollars in grants that you don't have to pay back.
