on 11/22/2005 Be sure to stretch and cool down properly. That last little bit of sprinting at the end of your run is the most damaging thing you can do to yourself.

on 11/22/2005 Undergo a full medical exam before starting your program. Based on your health, ask yourself, what's realistic for me? Think simple and think long-term. Unless you have prior experience in a physically grueling sport, start off with a walk/jog routine.

on 11/22/2005 Make sure you wear high quality, properly fitting shoes. Poor shoes can lead to a painful and discouraging experience. Worse yet, the wrong shoes can lead to injury. Be careful, and don't be cheap!
