on 10/23/2006 Dont' shower unless you've been to the gym. This requires tons of discipline and a desire to be clean. So if you really like showering everyday, then make sure you go to the gym every day... Its like earning a shower...

on 8/31/2006 Buy an outfit in the size that you would like to see yourself in and hang it where you can see it everyday. This will keep you working toward your goal.

on 8/31/2006 I weight lift twice a day for 20 minutes. Which involves stretching, leg lifts, upper and lower abs, obliques and chest press. When I observe women in my age bracket that appear very much out of shape, it makes me feel great!

Exercising it's so worth it!

on 8/31/2006 Find a HS track to run on. Run on the straight sections and walk on the curves. The run should be at a very slow pace (don't give in to the thought of running fast). The first few laps will feel very easy and eventually you will begin to know you're doing exercise. One rule: Once you start to run on a straight section - you must continue to the end of it. Get off the track before you fall down, the idea is to go home with a positive attitude. Do this every other day. If you wish, keep track of your laps. At some point you might decide to only walk on one curve rather than both - that's called progress.

on 8/8/2006 Mark down on your calendar the days that you exercise and how intense the workout was. I draw a thick line for intense cardio and a thin line for light workouts like walking. Once you get going, you'll be reminded of how disciplined you are. Also, I always want to start the beginning of the month off right!

on 8/8/2006 This started out because my car broke down, but now I really enjoy that time to myself before I go to work. Your co-workers admire you and it makes you feel good and inspires you to keep doing it. I work about 13kms from home and I have since started running on and off, so you get up a little earlier. But I find you have more energy the rest of the day.

on 1/30/2006 I like to run in public. I choose running outside instead of on a treadmill at the gym. This is because once I get outside the house, I would rather have people see me running than walking. So instead of walking, when I get mildly tired I push myself through it so I can keep running.

on 11/22/2005 I tell myself that if I'm able to complete my tough exercise routine today, I'll reward myself with that long luxurious bath I've been dying for later! For every accomplishment, treat yourself to a little something! You deserve it!

on 11/22/2005 Every time you work out, always try to increase your exercise by one weight or an extra 5-10 repetitions.

This will motivate you to keep trying harder and get a better feeling for yourself knowing that you are improving.

on 11/22/2005 Set your alarm early. I set mine at 5:00 and once it goes off, I'm awake anyway and go do my exercises. Do it during the weekdays and give yourself a rest on weekends if you need it.

on 11/22/2005 To be perfectly honest, being appealing to the opposite sex is what motivates me. I look at girls who I think look good and I want to be the guy that girls think looks good. It might sound superficial, but that's what motivates me.

on 11/22/2005 Well, motivation can come in any form. For me, I am motivated by certain movies and music. So whenever I really don't feel like working out, I just listen to certain songs that just hype me up. For me, the hardest part is always getting started, so the music or movie gives me a jumpstart.

on 11/22/2005 Play fast-paced music, even before you start working out. Whenever I feel like rolling over and dying rather than working out, I crank up the radio and it always gets me motivated.
