on 11/22/2005 Here are three things to remember when storing antique glass ornaments.

Store the ornament in a spot where the temperature does not fluctuate greatly. Hot attics and cold damp basements are likely to cause the silvering and paint decoration to flake and disappear. Moisture from condensation causes this to occur. Even temperature and low moisture conditions are ideal.
If possible store with the top facing down. If condensation occurs, then the moisture will evaporate without causing spots.
Always use acid free materials to pad or wrap your ornaments.

on 11/22/2005 Use makeup brushes to remove dust and dirt from old ornaments. ALWAYS remove the ornament hooks before storing - they can scratch. NEVER wrap in newspaper - the ink can rub off on the ornaments!
