Return to article: How to Finish Your Holiday Shopping in One Day
on 12/7/2006 Dont throw junk mail away! Plan what day you'll go shopping, and collect catalouges anytime before. Spend evenings circling items and writing a list of what you'll get people. I've done this and its much easier.
on 11/22/2005 If you decide to shop online, go through www.schoolpop.com. Each purchase you make through them will result in a rebate at no extra cost to you to the school or group of your choice.
on 11/22/2005 Check with stores such as K-mart and Target first for items you are looking for. A lot of times you will find the exact thing for a lower price. No one has to know you didn't buy it at an expensive department store!
on 11/22/2005 I find it easier to select a gift for each recipient by taking note during the year of details like - bathroom colours for towels, what kitchen appliances do they have, what type of music are they listening to in their home, etc.
on 11/22/2005 If you find an item that is useful for many people, buy that item for as many people on your list as possible. Or, buy everyone on your list a very similar item, all at the same store (ie, books or calenders).
on 11/22/2005 The malls are most crowded at lunchtime and in the afternoon or right around 5:30 pm. Try to take an early lunch (11:00 am) or shop when they first open during the week.
on 11/22/2005 Make a list of people you need to buy for, then make use of your local paper and flyers. Flip through the papers to find suitable items. When you find something, write the item, the price and the store name beside the person's name.
on 11/22/2005 Since most mall stores do not have shopping carts, I bring a stroller with me. The recliningtype is the best. It is great to put bags and packages in. No more tired arms and 5 trips to the car.
on 11/22/2005 If you come to a store that you think doesn't have good potential gifts, go in anyway. There might just be the perfect thing in there for someone.
