on 1/8/2009 I have a whirlpool dryer, and had the whirlpool repairman here to tell me everything checked out, but that I had a voltage problem. My tub turns, but does not heat up. Got an electrician who put in new breaker, and it worked for a few minutes. Now its blowing cold air again.

on 11/19/2008 Kenmore gas dryer just comes on. Dryer load is done, no moisture, clothes dry. No matter what "OFF" setting I use, the dryer domes on after 5 minutes or so.

What's up?

on 8/6/2008 I also have a Kenmore 70 series electric dryer that stopped working. I can hear the timer going on the cycle dial, but nothing happens when I press the start button. Before it totally stopped working, it would only run for a few minutes and then stop. It would still heat during the short time. It may be time for a new dryer, but any assistance is appreciate.

on 7/20/2007 My dryer suddenly started to make a loud noise. It sounds like a siren.

Kenmore - 20 yrs old but used lightly

on 3/3/2007 My Whirlpool electric dryer does not heat. Element and fuse check good. Your troubleshooting chart includes the possibility of a bad thermostat, but does not say which one - cycling or high limit.

on 8/8/2006 If you think that the bearings in the motor are bad because you have to apply force to move the motor pulley stop..take the belt off and then check the motor. If it turns freely then, check the blower assembly,it may be seized up because of dust and grime collected on the shaft. The blower assembly does not turn, causing stress on the motor.

on 11/22/2005 If you want to check to see if your heating element is working, and you've already tried the steps discussed here, you may want to try this:

Open dryer door and find button which becomes "pressed" when dryer door closes. Turn dryer on to heat cycle and look inside dryer. If heating coils at rear of dryer become red, the heating element is fine. You probably need a new starter for heating element.

on 11/22/2005 Pull the vent off the back of the dryer and dry a load. If the load dries this time, you know it is a blocked vent hose and not your dryer.

on 11/22/2005 Make sure the dryer is not pushed back too far, pinching the vent hose.
