on 2/23/2006 For the elderly, or those with less rigorous jaws and teeth (such as myself), I've found that when the finger meat begins to plum and sizzle, the delicate finger meat can be slid off the bone without tearing or falling apart. Doing this saves ones teeth from undo wear and tear. To remove meat without burning, use a pair of tongs. Grip bones at one end, and a to prevent tearing, grip a large portion of meat and gently pull.
