on 7/14/2008 I'm not a very good student and i have a average of 64%. Is there any way i can get into a good university with that grades? Is it possible to do some upgrading like study in the summers or go to schools that can tell the university "this guy has a average around 80's or something. I'm going to graduate really soon and there's no way to improve my grades( i think). So, are there places i can go learn then apply for universities. Thanks
on 6/6/2008 Is it still possible to go into the field although I am finishing my Bachelor's in International Business... I have always wanted to be one, but my parents wanted me to do a Bachelor's in Business as a safety net for job security... since funds are limited. I have always been talented at detail-oriented drawing and drafting courses, and I also am adept at most art forms and with computers. It seems I have what it takes but I am not sure if it is still possible to pursue this dream. Help would be appreciated...If you would like to contact me by email I can post that. Thanks! I will check this regularly...

on 1/18/2007 be instested in your dream and find out how to becme an architect or any other job, 2 years before your in high school.take the achitecture classes.lke art, math and science.YOU SHOULD BE INSTRESTED IN YOUR DREAM IN THE SEVENTH GRADE.WAY BEFORE TIME.
on 8/8/2006 Architecture is often about solving problems. There may be many divergent requirements and constraints, requiring an architect to find balance in solutions. If you like solving puzzles, you may want to consider architecture.
on 8/8/2006 Most drawings that architects use are two-dimensional representations, but good architects understand that there are four dimensions, and can use that in creating their drawings. Thinking about how materials come together during construction requires understanding the third dimension of the materials and the sequencing of how they come together.Technology is helping, by easier-to-use 3-D drawing software packages coming on the market. In the not too distant future, drawings will be increasingly 3D and even 4-, 5-, and 6D! What the fifth and sixth dimensions are is left for another discussion.
on 8/8/2006 Consider purchasing the book, Becoming an Architect, published in April 2006 by Wiley and Sons. The book provides insight on the process of pursuing the profession.
on 8/8/2006 Be prepared to handle others criticizing your work and do not take it personally. Also, learn how to be critical of yourself- it will come in handy on long nights when there is no one to give you an opinion. Critiques and juries are a big part of being an architecture student and can be really hard to handle at times, but always remember to stay positive and open-minded.
on 7/14/2006 Don't expect to paid what you're worth. This job is tedious and one little mistake can be huge in the end. If you are looking for money, this is not the job for you unless in 10+ years you own you're own firm and don't get sued. Go into development; you be the boss and you don't have to sit behind a computer doing the same details over and over again.
on 7/11/2006 Be prepared to spend a lot of time in the lab/studio as you get further into your schooling. You may find that your outside activities are very limited and also that the friends you made that are not in Architecture may not understand all the time that is required for your degree. You will spend many late nights and weekends working on projects. Just be prepared for it. Have fun doing it, some of the memories from the studio will stay with me for a long time!
on 11/22/2005 You don't actually need fantastic drawing skills to become an architect. Everything nowadays is done on a computer. What you do need, is a good imagination. You also need to be able to communicate and relate to your clients, interior designers, engineers and builders. You also need to understand and be able to read a blue-print.
on 11/22/2005 You need to look at others' work to help your designs keep up with the times, or else you may be left in the dust.
