Using postcard replies in your invitations and postcard thank-you notes can save you a lot of money, especially with postage. You can include the engagement picture on the front of the invite reply and a wedding picture on the front of the thank-you note!

When you do your invitations, address a thank-you note envelope at the same time. It'll save you time after the wedding when you have received your gifts.

Make sure to record the date of when you received a gift and when you sent out the thank-you note. In the chaos of all of the wedding gifts, it's easy to accidentally forget to send a note. This way, you have an easy way to check if it was sent.

Try to write notes as you receive gifts. My husband and I did this, and people constantly commented on how they were impressed to get the note so quickly. People really appreciate it. After all, they took the time to pick out a gift.

Money remains a touchy subject but often an appreciated wedding gift. Simply say, "Thank you for such a generous gift to help us start our lives together." Don't mention exact dollars - whether it's 1 or 100s of dollars, it's a sign of thought & effort.

If the gift was from your registry, don't go on and on about how much you love it and how it's just the right color. Of course it is. You picked it out.
