on 10/9/2008 This is a comment for the Anonymous commenter wondering what loops to put the hook through. It is not a requirement to put the hook through both loops at the top of the stitch. You can get different textured looks by putting your hook through the front loop or back loop.

on 11/22/2005 I have checked at least a dozen websites trying to find out if the second and further rows of double crochet should insert the hook into one or both threads of the previous row's stitch. This is the only website that specifically said to insert the hook into both loops of the stitch of the previous row. Finally, my question is answered! Thank you!

on 11/22/2005 Double Crochet (dc). Make your beginning chain stitches.
Yarn Over (yo) & insert hook into 3rd ch from hook; yo and pull yarn through loop. There should be 3 loops on the hook. Yo and pull the yarn through 2 loops. Yo and pull through remaining 2 loops.
