on 11/22/2005 Sudden squealing and clapping with delight is a great way to startle your horse, leading to you getting hurt and to them tearing up your house. I've yet to see very many horses who come when called. You should plan on having all your flooring redone, preferably in rough cut lumber, or plain dirt or sawdust. Carpeting won't hold up to wear and tear (you've seen the stuff horses collect in their hooves), and linoleum or tile is another disaster waiting to happen. My best tip is to leave the horse outside in a barn or pasture where they belong. Indoor stale air isn't good for their breathing, and their digestive systems are used to grazing and eating grass or hay constantly.
