Return to article: How to Treat Eczema
on 11/22/2005 For extreme itching, I use a mentholated "ice." They sell it in drug stores, and it is commonly used for pain. It looks like a blue gel. It is the ONLY thing that stops my itching at night. I have nummular eczema, and nothing else helps.

on 11/22/2005 My wife suffers from severe eczema. We've tried all types of medication, and our medical bills went into the thousands. We found that on top of it all, she is allergic to latex. Eventually, we found an excellent dermatologist with a cure that works. Avoid detergents and soap of any kind at all times. Only use oil-based perfume, and only use a little. Bathe with EpizoneE, a South African over-the-counter product which is a base cream that pharmacists use when making ointments. Use PVC cotton-lined gloves when doing the laundry, because even the rinsed laundry still has a soap residue. I found the gloves at the local hardware store. Some call them "building gloves." Speak to the supplier and order a thinner type than the normal ones. A lot of the other do's and don'ts are already mentioned.

on 11/22/2005 After a lifetime, the only thing that really works. Unbelievably great.
on 11/22/2005 I have had eczema for the pastforty years and when I am neara cat, my eczema flares up. I know this is not welcomed by cat lovers but there is something in the cat's fur that cause the human skin to flare up.
on 11/22/2005 If the eczema is mainly on the hands, try sleeping with petroleum jelly on your hands. Once you apply a thin layer, cover with a pair of cotton gloves or white socks. It may look silly, but when you wake up, you will should see results.
on 11/22/2005 Buy capsules of Evening of Primrose Oil, break open and rub on eczema twice a day. You can eat the remaining capsule for added benefit. Will clear up almost immediately and is known to cure it for good. Tried and true, my daughter's been cured 2+ yrs.
on 11/22/2005 My friend has had eczema his entire life, two years ago he had eczema covering his entire body. He went to every doctor. Nothing worked. So, he tried a Naturopath who said eczema is a result of food allergies, and tested him. In 1 month he was cured!!
