on 2/23/2007 If you don't have the money for a live band, we LOVE The Italian Wedding CD by a group called Roman Holiday. It even comes with a booklet on How to Co-ordinate an Italian Wedding. The CD is awesome!

on 11/22/2005 1st, invite at least 200 guests, if not more. Italians give Bridal Shower gifts a month or two before the wedding, but at the wedding reception they give Wedding Cards with $$$$ inside. The Bride will need a large purse.
This $$$ will be used by the Bride and Groom for setting up a home.
Now, to the important part, the feast.
There should be:
Champagne or open bar (with beer & liquor if you can afford it.)
The previous items mentioned are okay but I would avoid Turkey (American) but choose Beef or Chicken. (Pork is okay as an additional meat, Italian sausage with Green peppers and onions would be best.)The antipasto should include Genoa Salami and Provelone Cheese, Greek Black and Spanish Green Olives, Pepperocini Peppers as well as the other items mentioned. Have at least 3 or four vegetables - Choose those that most people and children like, green beans, etc...Have LOTS and LOTS of sliced Italian bread.
The band, pop, jazz, swing, whatever...must play Bella Luna before the Bride and Groom depart. And when they leave, the party can go on until midnight or later!!

on 11/22/2005 In order for the wedding to be truly Italian, you will need to hire a traditional Italian band, complete with an accordian player! If you do not have the chance to do the "chicken dance," you are not at a traditional Italian wedding.
