on 9/15/2008 Teri Garr's book, "Speedbumps" would be a really good book for any aspiring acotrs or actresses, she was the QUEEN of faking it 'til you make it.

on 8/27/2008 Sarah! If you want to be an actress then you will find a way to do it! I know that you are young and naive about the business, but more than half the professionals (And I use that term very lightly) in the entertainment industry are faking it till they make it every day! It's very true! There is no step by step procedure, lol! I am not sure what the comment "I am not the richest girl or the poorest girl" has to do with anything?? It sounds a bit tacky and trite though to be honest! Being poor or rich has nothing to do with acting. And if you are influenced in anyway by the constant "celebrity" media and that is why you desire to be an actress then you won't make it! I am telling that to you now! All actors and actresses have put their hard knocks in! I can't tell you what makes the difference between the major actors who are well known and the ones that always stay under the radar, becau

on 8/4/2008 Hi Im a female actress from the u.k and im struggling to get an agent to represent me as most say 'referral only". I am desperate to make it as an actress.I will not stop till i make it. I was looking at going to L.A in oct to try to get an agent and get work. I moved back from spain to pursue my acting career 4 years ago. Have been in 3 short films and have 2 lined up. i attend weekly Drama classes. I just need a break. All big actors had to start somewhere.
The director of the last harry potter film gave me rave reviews in one of the films
i was in. I have my own website www.gemmalee-actress.com
really hope a casting director or agent sees this. If anyone has any ideas for me as it gets very depressing when you keep getting knocked back as im sure you all know. Please Help

on 7/16/2008 To become an actor it is simple. I recommend being an outgoing person who can do improvisation. Furthermore, taking acting or Drama classes would be a good idea at some point, whether it be in school, college or what have you. It definitely does not mean you need it. There are obviously people who have excelled at acting with little training.

The next thing I would do is get an agent. Hire an agent and have them work for you to try to get you roles. Try out for every casting call. Furthermore, i would find free websites to post your actor's profile on. An example would be http://www.inktalent.com

Its free and you can actually see the studios that visit your profile.

The next thing I would do is try and become a member of SAG (Screen Actor's Guild)

http://www.sag.org

Other than that, I wish you the best of luck.

on 6/29/2008 First I want to say that even thought I am no expert I know that you have to truly love to act in any way to do it. You cant just do if for fame or for being admired so you have to see if acting is really what you want. Second, this industry from what I know if hard and only one in a million people make it but remember there is too much millions of people in the world so you can be that one. And third you have to act where ever and whenever you can so that the agencies can take you seriously. At last I give everyone that really wants it luck and perseverance.
