on 3/16/2006 Want your face to look really witchy? Take some green or brown face paint, pour it into a bowl. Have your little witchling wash her face beforehand, though. Then, dip a big, round sponge into the face paint. Dab the sponge around her face. Even leave little skin patches. You don't have to use all the paint. After that's done, let it dry (it should take about 20 minutes). As soon as it is dry, take a rough sponge with lots of holes in it, then dip it in a different color, then dab it on her face, around the cheeks, like wet blush. If you want, add eyebrows and warts!

on 12/30/2005 Head to a fabric store and grab a length (equivalent to your height) of cheap, wide, black satin and the same length of cheap, red satin. Run a quick seam around both, piece together with the black on the outside and the red on the inside. Attach together with elastic and a clasp at one end. It makes a brilliant, inexpensive and very effective cape! Also, silver cardboard can be cut out to make simple shoe buckles, attached to any ordinary black shoes or boots, to give a witchy-look.

on 11/22/2005 You could attach glow in the dark stars (or whatever you can find) on your hat and cape and they will help you be seen in the dark.

on 11/22/2005 This costume is quick and easy for any adult with a sewing machine.

I used black polyester material in 60 inch width. I used 3 yards for the skirt and 3 yards for the cape. I sewed a hem along the top of both pieces (along all 3 yards). I cut the skirt bottom to a length that I would not trip over, and I used that to cut strips to run through the top hem (to tie the skirt and cape around the waist and neck). An optional seam up the side of the skirt allows you to wear stockings instead of pants under the skirt.

Add makeup, a broom, and other accesories to make a quick and easy witch.

on 11/22/2005 1. Tie your hair back. Use the triangular sponge to make a purple outline around the face. Fill the outline with green face paint using the round sponge. Blend the colors with the round sponge.
2. Before the green face paint dries, use the medium brush to paint above and below the eyes with white face paint.
3. Paint black bushy eyebrows and wrinkles. Paint creases on the lips. Since witches rarely smile, they have deep frown lines.
4. Use the tip of the fine brush to paint red circles on the chin and forehead. Clean the fine brush before outlining the circles in black. Keep using the fine brush to paint black hairs sprouting from the warts.
5. Use the fine brush and black paint to accentuate the lines under the nose and add other gruesome features. Don't forget to make a broom by tying a lot of twigs and small branches together.

on 11/22/2005 To add a funny effect, attach a soft-toy cat to a broom made of twigs.
Use hair gel, or hair varnish to 'scrunch' your hair in to a tangled mess.
Make a wand out of a peice of 'dowling' (wooden curtain rail), painted black, add thin strands of tintsle to the end to make it look like you are doing a spell.

on 11/22/2005 Use dry ice in a bucket or pot with a handle and use black and white cream makeup for a green or gray effect on the face. Put a big wart on finger or hand. Use glow-in-the-dark spray for hair streaks and hands as well as the bucket for ghoulish "safety."
