on 6/3/2007 I have a trojan on y computer, and have failed up to now to get rid of it using antivirus software. Does anyone know if erasing everything and reformating the hard drive will once and for all erase the virus?

on 5/17/2007 You are a star!!! I was really struggling to sort out the formatting and loading of XP when, in desparation, I found your article via Google. Worked a charm! You have saved my sanity.

on 4/27/2007 This worked tickety-boo for me, and I tried (and failed) with other recommended procedures on the internet. I still wonder why Microsoft makes it so difficult to reformat and re-install XP.
Thank you so much for making it so easy!
