on 11/8/2007 Loops on the bottom are caused by the tension being out of adjustment. Correct the top tension first, then adjust the bobbin tension until no knot is visible and the stitches are equal on both sides of the fabric. Breaking thread is caused by too much tension, old weakened thread, or a bent needle. I sew auto upholstery on a couple of ancient Singer Walking Foot machines, and spend the first few minutes getting the tension right every time I sew. I suspect the thread fairies visit at night and fiddle with the machines. If you need more help, email me at jamaclaypod@yahoo.com & I will send you some Singer guides to thread adjustment.

on 8/2/2007 did you get an answer to your problem it sounds as if your tension is off or maybe your bobbin is threaded or loaded wrong

on 1/24/2007 I am having problems with my sewing machine. The top stitchs are fine, but there is all this thread on the bottom. What is wrong?? and how can I fix it?? I have a singer machine. Thanks for your help.
on 1/27/2006 To improve your sewing, the best thing to do is to practice as much as possible. The best sewers that I have spoke to say they try to practice every day. Also, always use the correct size needle for different fabrics or else it may be dangerous.
