on 9/13/2008 If you want to learn how to jump higher or run faster why trust someone who doesn't have the proper schooling or certifications to teach it. There are so many programs out there that don't teach you the basics and start you based on where your body is ready to begin a training program that most people aren't satisfied with the results. Make sure the person providing the program is highly qualified and knows what they are doing. Good Luck and Train smart

on 8/29/2008 Most people when training their vertical focus too much on training their jumping endurance. Which means that they do too many repetitions and too low and intensity. Training your explosion involves very high intensity and lower repetition. If you pace yourself on any of your exercises you are decreasing the effectiveness of your training.

on 8/22/2008 If you really want to improve your jumping ability, first you need to figure out what type of power or strength you are lacking, base strength, transitional power, or explosiveness, they are all different and must be trained in different ways. You'll also want to figure out which individual muscles/muscle groups are working inefficiently You can figure this out by completing a full vertical jump test progression and a baseline fitness test to diagnose any muscle imbalances that you may have. Do a routine that combines plyomertic/body weight, free weight and or acceleration routines. In order to gain inches you'll need to tax your central nervous system and force your body to create new motor pathways. If you do this correctly you should gain at least an inch a week. Its not how many things you try, its how you combine them.

on 8/22/2008 This is article provides terrible training advice for increasing your vertical jump. Jumping high is about getting strong relative to your own body weight and getting explosive to express that strength quickly. Read all the free stuff at www.verticaljumping.com for some proper training information.

also e-reviewers is a marketing site. Their reviews are more about making money then providing good advice.

on 8/12/2008 jumping rope, box jumps, squat jumps, calfraises, lunges, and just jumping in general are the most effective ways for increasing your vertical leap and squats with weights are bad because all they do is make your legs bulky but they dont help you jump higher but regular squats are good. also to track your progress raise a basketball hoop to a height were you have to work hard to touch it then if you do these workouts in no time you will be able to easily touch it.
P.S. a way to see how high you jump is see how high you can touch without jumping reaching as high as you can then jump and touch as high as possible then subtract the 2 heights and you will get your vretical.

on 6/4/2008 There are so many programs advertised on the web that it is hard to decide which ones are good. I bought Athletes Vertical Resource after reading reviews on www.e-reviewers.com/vertical. The reviews at least let you know what you are buying unlike the web sites of the programs.
