on 10/18/2008 i got mine about 5 days ago....left the bandage on for about 1 and a half to 2 hours took it off...let it dry the rest of the night...put some ointment that the tattoo parlor gave me before i went to bed...woke up washed my hand and washed my tat with some ordinary hand soap and water took a shower...and then put the ointment on 3 times a day for two days then switched to gold bond ultimate healing skin therapy lotion...its a blue gold and white bottle it works the best...no cocoa butter or any fragrance lotion....no neosporin...a week later mine is looking so fresh and healthy
on 8/25/2008 Mustangboss302... Yes, if there are spots missing ink, it's normal but you should be able to go back to the tattoo studio and get a free touch up... they told me when I got mine that after it healed, if there were empty spots, he would give me a free retouch.
on 8/20/2008 i just got new tattoo.. and after several of days, there's some of spot that is missing of inks.. is that normal? should i go back to studio and retattooing that areas?
on 8/19/2008 You shouldn't use an antibiotic unless you have an infection, instead used a skin protectant like A&D Ointment or Eucerin's Aquaphor Healing Ointment.
on 4/25/2008 i got my tattoo done yesterday i went to bed with this bandage and in the morning when i removed it my tattoo was all wet it was some kind of a liquid is it alright???
on 10/5/2007 Ive been using alot of the stuff that it tells me not to and its comin out pretty bad. I didnt realize i shudnt re bandage it, didnt kno not to use neosporin (which many people have said TO use and NOT TO use. I was confused) and i applyed way too much of it. DONT DO THAT it comes off on my clothes sooo easily.
on 5/26/2007 I bought a triple antibiotic ointment to put on the tatoos that a friend and I had done at the same time. I didn't seem to have any trouble with it, but it made her ink flow right out of her arm. We went to the store and got a small bottle of unscented Lubriderm and split it (some in a pill bottle from the pharmacy for me and the rest of the bottle for her.) I haven't had any problems since then and my new ink looks great, hasn't hurt since the needle was actually on the skin. Damn, ankle tats hurt!
on 5/16/2007 hi, i had a new tattoo made over my old one which some changes n made it a bigger... a few days later, the skin started to peal, and a small section fell off. but i noticed that the ink is almost not there... should the ink appear clearly after the full healing process or do i have to go over it again after the healing process?? thank you Ryan
on 4/15/2007 I just got my new tatoo of a dragon and inside part of it has white spots I was wondering if that is the healing process of the tat. I've been washing it lightly and using bag balm and it still is very itchy when I rub the bag balm on it.,
on 3/22/2007 I prefer plain bacitracin personally. It doesn't have the unwanted sulfates of something like pollysproin. It should be mentioned the reason for keeping such a thin layer of the ointment, is because when its too thick it tends to draw out the ink.
on 3/2/2007 I just got a tattoo last night. It hurt soo bad!!! hehehe. Anyways, my artist gave me 2 simple directions to preserve my tattoo. He said to apply every "2 hours" Bacitrin Ointment, USP and let it air dry. Also, he said, at night I should apply a thin layer of it and put serane wrap around it, taping it in place. This guy has his COMPLETE body covered in tattoos... So I trust him!!!
