Return to article: How to Run a Hockey Offense: Odd Player Rush
on 7/16/2006 If you see that a defense man (or two) are occupied or switching off the ice, take the chance (if you have the puck) to sprint down the ice. If a teammate has the puck call for it at the half line. If there is a lose puck, put all your might into it and sprint and move in on the goalie. No fancy moves or under-the-legs, take a hard wrist shot at the hash marks!
on 11/22/2005 Do not get too fancy with passing and make sure the odd man rush always produces a shot in the net.
on 11/22/2005 If you are on a 2-1, and have the puck, skate towards the defenseman, and criss-cross with your teammate. 9 times out of 10 the defenseman will follow you, leave the puck for your partner, who should be wide open.
