on 11/22/2005 Soft items such as bathing suits, underwear and hair pieces can be compressed by putting them in zip-locking bags. Squeeze the air out as you zip - items take less room. Creams and lotions stored in locked bags won't spill out if their containers open.

on 11/22/2005 Women are famous for overpacking. I find myself saying the I *may* need something, so I pack it just to be safe. Half the time, the "maybe" item stays in my bag. I have made it my rule that if I can't justify taking it, whatever it is, it's staying home.

on 11/22/2005 Pack a raincoat or jacket. It can be also used as a housecoat or bathrobe, besides being used in rain.

on 11/22/2005 Break your clothes into groups, such as small items, t-shirts and shorts and pack them in drawstring bags. Then when you unpack your backpack, everything is grouped together and only the larger items are separate.

on 11/22/2005 The key is to pack about two weeks in advance and then take out clothes as you get closer to
your trip. Do not add more.

on 11/22/2005 I pack clothes that are black,
white and red. This way they
are interchangable, not too
drab and can be dressed up
or down. Wear black pants, skirts & jackets with white tops and red accessories.
