on 11/22/2005 Heading a ball improperly can cause pain and/or injury. Make sure to snap your neck and to use your forehead. It won't hurt at all if you head the ball correctly.

on 11/22/2005 To increase the power of your header, you should lean backward and then thrust your body forward very quickly and vigorously at the moment of impact, so the work isn't only done by your neck muscles.
