on 8/8/2006 As a goalie, you should just try and stay in the middle. Don't go left or right unless necessary. Most forwards just shoot and not aim, they always want to hit the middle and would most likely miss. Don't let the defenders come too near to or else they will block your line of view.

on 8/8/2006 You have to be the leader on the team, the smart one who knows the game, and watches film after film (which is not so fun, but it shows in the game).

on 7/11/2006 The way to win a soccer match is to score. You don't get anything by dribbling a lot and being fancy. So the best thing a midfielder can do is quickly give the ball to a striker, so he can score. Then quickly get back in place to help your team defend.

on 1/24/2006 To be a good center mid you have to be a fast thinker and quickly pass the ball. Your job is to get the ball out wide to wingers and find the forwards. You connect the offense and the defense. You also need to get back on defense. This position is great because you usually touch the ball the most.

on 11/22/2005 In order to be a good midfielder you have to know and read the opposing team's midfield and defense. Look for the open spaces where you can deliver a ball giving your teammates the advantage of getting to the ball in full stride, or comfortably and not letting that ball be a 50/50 chance of them obtaining it. Also look to the opposite side of the field where other teammates may be open and as a midfielder, it is important to have a calmness and not get nervous when the other team presses.

on 11/22/2005 I'm a defender, sweeper mostly. If your offense is good enough, you will not see much action. But remember, if offense does break, you are the last line before the goalie. Keep your eyes open and pass when you can.

on 11/22/2005 I myself is a striker and forward for my team. Every forward should enjoy their position and take it seriously, because they are the ones who will lead the team to victory. A forward should be mentally and physically alert and should find a space between the defenders to score the goal. Be proud if you are a forward.

on 11/22/2005 You have to play aggressively or else you will lose the ball. One more thing - run, run, run!

on 11/22/2005 On loose balls it's important to be aggressive. Your teammates will be depending on you to win the ball for the strikers.

on 11/22/2005 Know your team mates and how they play, if you have the advantage of knowing how your team mates play then you can anticipate what they are going to do, for better or for worse.

on 11/22/2005 Don't look at the player, look at the ball.

on 11/22/2005 When playing in midfield, you must always come back and help the defense when the opposition is attacking.

on 11/22/2005 If you are a midfielder, you must have a lot of endurance. You have to play offensively and defensively. You basically need to run all over the field (and stay in your position), so you must be in shape.
