Return to article: How to Back Out of a Contract on a Home for Sale
on 11/2/2008 I have put $28,000 down on a condo unit that the builder said would be ready by approx April 09'. Now due to lack of sales, they down't know when they will even start building the Condo's. They estimate MAYBE starting in 15 months. They said that they would give me my deposit back by september of this year if sales have not progressed but have since withdrawn that offer and is telling me that i have to wait. It is costing me for them to sit on my money and i cannot wait for another 2 years to MAYBE take possesion my home. Any ways on how I can back out of the contract? I feel that they are not living up to their end by building my home....HELP
on 7/10/2008 What do you do if your financing fell through and now you want to stay in your current home? How do you get out of the contract on the sale of your current home?
on 11/22/2005 Use a professional to write your contract and include the contingency for financing, inspection, appraisel, sale of home and so forth up front. None of these items are reason to "get out of a contract" unless written into the contract.
