Your best bet is to contact an instructor licensed in Utah and ask. You can find an instructor though ads and sites online, or often Utah gun shows have classes taught on site. I have a permit and know the process, but not all the ins and outs. The Utah stat government licensing site is another good resource.

I am not sure. You may need to check with your attorney. If it an active probation it may be a reason to deny a carry permit. There is little or no tolerance for drug or violent crime issues for a carry permit.

if you have never beeen convicted of drug possession but arrested and then released by nol proces or probation before judgement meaning within a year if you stay clean all pending charges are dropped with no conviction on your record ...can you quialify for a carry permit or do you have to expunse your record first...but remember i have no guilty convections..please advise...thanks

I am not sure. Utah and Florida are the most recognized and most reciprocal of the permit states. It may depend on what state it is from. Utah and Florida would recognize your permit. Nevada who just added Utah last month may not yet.

Nevada is recognizing concealed carry permits from states like West Virginia and Ohio, but not Utah anymore.

on 7/3/2009 Thanks. Nevada will honor the permit for gun transport in a vehicle, but not into buildings. It is being reviewed and may change. ECTPM

on 3/23/2009 If you have a current gun permit in another state can that count for step 3 along with a valid driver's license?
