on 11/22/2005 Don't just slam your foot. You have to pop your back foot, slam down and pop it back up. It took me months to do an ollie because I was slamming.

on 11/22/2005 The ollie is not a complicated trick. The first step is to get your feet into the right position. Put your front foot across the middle of the board and the balls of your back foot on the tail. Push down with your back foot until the tail is hitting the ground. At the same time jump and slide your front foot up, until it hits the nose of the board. Level out and land by bending your knees, this will reduce the shock.

on 11/22/2005 First, put your back foot on the tip of the tail and your front foot between the front and back bolts. When I first started doing ollies I started on my carpet, but after a couple of days of that my mom started getting on to me about it. Stomp on the tail, which should make the board pop up, then push forward with your front foot to level out the board. Once you have got that down, go to concrete and try the same thing. When you can do it on flat concrete, do it while you're rolling, and when you can do that - you've got it!

on 11/22/2005 First, you want to place your front foot about 2 inches away from the front bolts. Then you want to put your back foot on the tail. Now crouch (but not too long). Now hit the tail, jump once you hear a crack, and then slide your foot up the board, then hit the top of the board lightly. When you go down, bend your knees. Keep in mind that you have to do this in 1 flush motion.

on 11/22/2005 Never practice an ollie in the grass. You'll never learn that way. You can't pop the board up that way. Trust me I've tried. It does not work.

on 11/22/2005 You can't just slam at your tail. Sliding gives you a lot more air. It may take practice but it's worth it. My friend used to slam at the tail, and now that he slides his foot he can ollie a lot higher.

on 11/22/2005 Remember that when you slide your front foot up to the nose, don't keep your foot flat. Instead, turn it sideways making it so you will pull your board up, instead of pushing your board out from under you.

on 11/22/2005 if you try to do tricks in the grass, you'll regret it. What happens is that grass and mud get in the skateboard's bearings and it stops up your wheels. I like to practice in the gravel, it has the same effect as grass, but is much less messy.

on 11/22/2005 Always practice doing an ollie standing still. When standing still, make sure you tuck your legs in so your knees are almost touching your chest. When you get good enough to move, lean forward when you land. I found when I tried to ollie some curbs that I'd make it, then slip backward and fall off my board. So make sure you lean forward!

on 11/22/2005 At first I couldn't do an ollie but all I had to do was relax and keep on practicing. Just relax and pratice!

on 11/22/2005 When you're starting skateboarding, and you try to do an oille, many people have their back foot slip off. This is due to fear. If you are worried about falling, wear a helmet. Do not get into the habit of letting your foot slip off. It's a hard habit to break. Don't worry if it takes you a while to get the oille down. It took me nearly a year.

on 11/22/2005 To do an awesome ollie, first make sure your have the proper footing down. If your footing is bad you might get hurt. The closer you put your front foot to the tail the higher it goes, but don't put it too close. Flick the board down hard, but not too hard. Quickly move your right foot up and push down. If your standard, put your left foot closer to the tail. Hint: If you're goofy, your left foot is at the tail. Standard is when your right foot is at the tail.

on 11/22/2005 Doing an ollie is an essential to skateboarding. First you need a good skateboard, then practice on carpeting or on the grass. Pop the skateboards tail down hard, while your front foot is in the middle of the board. Once you pop the tail down hard, slide your front foot forward and jump with the board. Make sure you land with your knees bent.

on 11/22/2005 Do not put your front foot back too far. If you do, and you land without moving your foot back quick enough, the board will snap.

on 11/22/2005 I've only been skateboarding for a few weeks and I can do the best ollie. Put your front leg behind the front screws and put your back foot on the tail of the board. Hit the tail with your back leg and jump high and fast. When you're in the air, with your front feet - hit the front of the board (not hard). All you need to do next is land.
