on 6/30/2006 Before you try to slide along the ledge, skate straight at it (slowly), and ollie up landing in the boardslide position. Doing this means you can practice the technique without worrying about balancing a slide. Once you are landing with the board centered over the edge every time, try riding at it with a slight angle so you get a little slide. Once you are comfortable with this have a go at a proper boardslide. Too many people try a boardslide straight off and slam hard, then never try again. When coming off the end, try and land on the back wheels first, your momentum should pivot you back round. At all times keep your weight low and centered (don't lean back).

on 6/30/2006 Roll toward the object at a comfortable speed. Ollie, and turn 90 degrees. Land on the object when you get to the end, then turn another 90 degrees the opposite way. Land and roll away. Don't be scared!

on 11/22/2005 As your riding to the rail, or whatever you're about to slide on, you either ollie, a 90 or a bit of a powerslide, but lift your nose on your board up. When you get on the rail, lean forward a tiny bit and keep your shoulders square, slide off, and do another 90.

on 4/12/2008 Don't think about it, you'll fall! Just ride up at a slow speed, ollie up, and push forward and slide and ride off.

on 11/22/2005 If you're scared you might keep leaning forward too much, but don't. Just stay over your board and keep your shoulders square.

on 11/22/2005 If the object you want to grind on is low enough you can manual up onto it. First you have to have medium speed, then do a manual(or nose manuel) then put the middle of the board right over whatever you want to grind, and you're off.

on 11/22/2005 If you are leaning too far back you will fall right on your butt. I learned the hard way. To prevent that, try to bend your knees a little bit and have your feet fairly far from each other. Have your shoulders almost equal with your ankles.

on 11/22/2005 If you're scared, you might fall. Look back, so you can see how much you have done. It prevents you from being scared.

on 11/22/2005 Never, ever be afraid to do the trick and fall because otherwise you will never land it.

on 11/22/2005 Go fast, go fast, go fast! I know that at first, going fast may seem uncomfortable, but trust me, if you can ollie up to it and get on it...Do not go slow. I busted 2 boards within an hour because I decided to go slow. Go as fast as you can and still control an ollie.

on 11/22/2005 When you are coming off the grind, push away from the curb with your front foot, and at the same time push your back foot in towards the curb. Do this when the nose of the board and you'll be able to move across the edge of the curb.
