on 8/8/2006 My husband and I had been trying for a couple months to get pregnant. I was trying to chart my ovulation, but it was not consistent each month. I read about the 'have sex every other day 10 days after the first day of your period' and I got pregnant the first month!

on 6/30/2006 I am the proud Mother of a 9 month old boy - after trying for 3 years! Don't let miscarriages discourage you (I've had several), keep trying. Also, as a short cycle girl, I know I needed to start having sex as soon as my flow stopped. Try as often as possible, at least every other day, and if hasn't happened in 6 months (or you have an unexplained miscarriage), talk to your OB/GYN or contact a fertility specialist. Also, start charting or doing ovulation tests now, so you have that information for you draw from 6 months down the line so they can fast track your testing. The HSG test is somewhat painful, but it was just 1 month after that I conceived my son (it gives you a boost in fertility).

on 6/30/2006 The best method is regularity. Instead of counting days before having intercourse, do so every night. Not only is this a healthy way to renew your feelings for one another and promote closeness and trust, but you greatly increase your odds of becoming pregnant!

on 6/30/2006 For the men; try to keep your testicles as cool as possible when trying to conceive. This means boxers, not briefs, and less blankets. No hot tubs.

on 11/22/2005 If nothing seems to be working, try charting. You can find out more about it the book called, Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It explains in great detail how to chart by taking your morning temp, charting your periods, cervical mucus, cervical position, ect. Most women DO NOT have a 28 day cycle so a lot of those techniques that tell you to have sex around 14 days before you expected period are WRONG. When you chart you will quickly find out that you are NOT a 28 day cycle gal. That is very important to know when you are planning to conceive.

on 11/22/2005 Don't forget once you decide to start a family to start taking Prenatal Vitamins right away, Some of the most important development is in the first few weeks when you might not know you are pregnant and the vitamins will help decrease the chance of neural tube defects

on 11/22/2005 I got pregnant when I least expected it. It's okay to try to have a child, but don't get obsessed about it. Just relax and it will come in time. :)
God Bless and Good luck!

on 11/22/2005 Make it fun and adventurous. For once in your sexual relationship try something new and daring. It will make the process of baby making so much more desirable.

on 11/22/2005 My husband and I had sex every day at 6 a.m., and after he ejaculated in me I placed a pillow under my bottom. 4 weeks later I found out I was pregnant. I'm now the mother of a 3-week-old baby girl named Madilin. We tried for 6 years and this worked.

on 11/22/2005 Your body knows when it's fertile, so go with it. Also chart your mucus; you are most fertile when your mucus looks and feels like egg whites.

on 11/22/2005 Trying too hard may actually lessen your chances. While trying to concieve, don't get TOO serious about it. Have fun, keep Romance involved and keep the Love in your Lovemaking. Best Wishes :)

on 11/22/2005 Chart your waking temperature to determine when you are ovulating. Don't buy ovulation kits. This does the trick and it worked for me! Very inexpensive.
