Decent article. A few more considerations: The weight of the bike. Some of these bikes are too heavy for a 2 or 3 year old child. You reference the Trek, but it must weigh 1000 lbs....much too heavy for a child to "push" around. The warranty. Does the maker stand behind their product? Many of these bikes come with no warranty whatsoever. Components. What type and level of components does the bike have? Is it made with a lot of cheap plastic parts in areas where plastic is not desirable? Is the handlebar and seat quickly adjustable (quick release) or does it require special tools? Consumer Reviews. What do you find when you Google the product? What are other consumers saying about a given product and customer service? Again, nicely written article. Just some other things to consider.
