on 11/22/2005 If you want a taste of something to liven up your salad, buy the strongest cheese you can get (like gorgonzola); you need much less of it! Wafer thin Salami and Bismark herring are good too.

on 11/22/2005 Some people say not to eat late at night but for me it's not when I eat or when I exercise, but how much.

on 11/22/2005 Let's not underestimate anaerobic training, i.e. pumping iron, as a method of losing fat. Muscle is metabolically active and burns calories, whereas fat is metabolically inactive and burns NO calories.

on 11/22/2005 In addition to drinking lots o' water, get at least 8 hours of sleep and you'll have much more energy to exercise. Plus, your complexion will improve. The full night of sleep will make you feel refreshed, so you won't need that coffee to wake up.

on 11/22/2005 Don't get so obsessed with diets that you stop eating. I made that mistake and became a 17 year old that was 5'5 and 95 pounds. I looked horrible and felt horrible. Eat enough and just excersise. That will do the trick!

on 11/22/2005 1. Pick your favorite time to exercise. 2. If you usually work out for 1 hour but feel like doing 30 minutes, listen to your body and do 30 minutes.
3. Look at losing as a positive thing for you, and don't punish yourself!

on 11/22/2005 Being fidgety and active helps you lose weight like nothing else. Bouncing your legs up and down and running to the phone instead of walking help you drop pounds. You burn 100 calories sitting for an hour, But if you are constantly moving you burn more.

on 11/22/2005 It works for me. I always eat something small, but enough to give me energy for a workout along with some ice water. After my workout I drink another cup or two of cold water and stretch.

on 11/22/2005 Brush and floss early in the evening to stop snacking late in the day. You won't want to repeat all that work and you'll get a great dental checkup!

on 11/22/2005 Take the stairs, not the elevator. If you pack your lunch you won't be tempted to buy junk food. If you eat when/because you're bored, find a quick activity that takes little or no equipment- reading, a quick walk, or playing with a pet.

on 11/22/2005 Eat mini-meals, including polyunsaturated oil, less fat, more fiber, salads, boiled carrots, some tomatoes & banana, lemon in warm water after dinner. Drink plenty of water. Eat less, walk more (30 minutes of brisk walking daily).

on 11/22/2005 Don't look at your fitness program as a chore. Think of it as a treat: "I'm allowing myself to look and feel great - I deserve it." I find it's easier to stick with it when I think about it as a reward to myself, not a punishment!

on 11/22/2005 When you go to work out, bring a friend. This makes is seem less like work and more like social time. It also kills two birds with one stone if you lead a very busy life.
