on 11/22/2005 I keep a cup of Hershey's Kisses in the freezer for when I get a chocolate craving. At only 25 calories, you can't beat it. But just have one!!
on 11/22/2005 Sitting on the floor requires more energy to get up. Avoid those cushy easy chairs, and sit on the floor. It's good exercise! When I need to lose, it's one of the first things I begin to do.
on 11/22/2005 Try to base your diet on calories. By doing this, you will be able to eat everything!Try the Weight Watchers Diet!! It's great!
on 11/22/2005 Don't eat any food after 6:00 PM. Avoid late dinners, because you sit on the fat all night while you sleep. You have a chance to burn calories while you are active during the day.
on 11/22/2005 I started off running a mile a day. But now I run six miles a day. I enjoy doing this, so the thing is to find something you like and stay with it. I also added in light weight training.
on 11/22/2005 Drink water 20 minutes before and 20 minutes after eating. When you drink water when eating, it makes the food mushy and the body can't separate the different proteins and stores them all as fat.
on 11/22/2005 If you can't tell yourself to exercise first and then watch TV, try doing exercise while watching TV. Set a goal to exercise through the show or through a set of commercials. Have your kids join in, or use them for weight.
on 11/22/2005 A friend told me that, when she eats at a restaurant, she asks for a doggy bag before she eats. She divides the food - half goes into the doggy bag and half she eats at the restaurant. She then is not tempted to eat the other half.
on 11/22/2005 Try to consume most of your complex carbs before 1 PM. Try a protein supplement such as whey protein so that you are consuming something about six times a day. This allows the body to burn the carbs and leave more muscle! Good Luck!
on 11/22/2005 I like to reuse 16-ounce water bottles, put Crystal Lite in them, and then freeze them. You get your water intake, a variety of flavors, and a little crunch, too.
on 11/22/2005 Yes, definitely drink plenty of water, but you also have to cut down on salt. Don't add it to food. Some foods like spinach have salt in it - even when fresh or frozen. The salt will make your body store water. The first 5 pounds lost is usually water.
on 11/22/2005 If you know that you're likely to guzzle more than necessary at meal times, drink a large amount of water about half an hour before - as long as you have easy access to a bathroom or have a strong bladder!
on 11/22/2005 Eat very little at night. Have your dinner at noon and a snack at night.
on 11/22/2005 I teach Jazzercise. I tell my students to eat a little of everything, because your body needs all of it. That includes fat and sugar; don't cut out one food group. Get up and move. Drink lots of water. Call 1-800-FIT-IS-IT for a class in your area.
on 11/22/2005 Try slowly cutting out the fat. Go from regular cream cheese to low-fat cream cheese and, finally, plain yogurt. It works and eventually you will start craving the lower-fat items. Enjoy!
