Return to article: How to Lose Weight
on 11/22/2005 While you are at work, driving or staying home, suck in your belly and sit up straight. After two minutes, you will start to feel the burn!! Do this for 3 or 4 hours every day, and the pounds will come off - plus you gain a great stomach.
on 11/22/2005 Take what you would normally serve yourself and put it on your plate. Then cut it in half equally and put half away for a lunch during the week!
on 11/22/2005 Pick up the book by Racheel and Richard Heller about the Carbohydrate Addict Diet.
on 11/22/2005 Not enough time to do a full workout? Do three 10 minutes workouts instead of a full 30 minutes at once. Water, water, water: the key to it all. I bought a 1.5 litre bottle and cooler system in one, so I can keep track and it's with me all the time.
on 11/22/2005 Instead of daily weigh-in's with a scale, invest in a tape measure and take your measurements. Keep a diary of them so you can watch your progress. I do waist, hips, thigh, arm and calf. Way more fun than a scale. Easy to see progress.
on 11/22/2005 I played soccer 2x weekly & lost nothing. Try walking like you're pushing a baby stroller, along w/ a heavier workout (I used soccer) to get your heart going. I lost around 20 lbs in 3 months just by walking very slowly for a 1/2 hr to an hr, 3x a week.
on 11/22/2005 This is really amazing, the way inches started to vanish on me, though not very quickly. It still got me from a dress size 14 to 10/12 in about 3 weeks. I think that's pretty good. Hope that'll help...just check all labels for total carbs.
on 11/22/2005 I eat like my kids do. Watch babies eat; they will eat only until they are full. Most kids are not overweight. When they are full, they're done. Again, drink tons of water. I love eating the ice; it gives me something to "chew" on, plus it's added water.
on 11/22/2005 You guys had nine good tips, but seem to have forgotten themost important dieting tip -at least 80 ounces of plain old water a day. It makes the pounds come off smoother and healthier.
on 11/22/2005 Try to prevent yourself from eating 6 to 8 hours before you go to bed. You'll find the result incredibly amazing!
on 11/22/2005 I tried diets, exercise, all the tricks. Pounds came off, but went back on. So I joined the Weigh Down Workshop at church. No dieting, no exercising. I lost 22 pounds and have kept them off. Just wait until you are hungry to eat; stop when you are full.
on 11/22/2005 Take an 8-ounce glass of fat-free milk. Mix with Slim-Fast - just one glass in the morning. You will be surprised; you will lose weight. Have a half sandwich with soup or salad for lunch, then a light supper.
on 11/22/2005 There should be a group in your area. It's not expensive and really helps.
on 11/22/2005 I walk a mile on the treadmill and do 150 abdominal exercises five days a week. I also eat low-fat meals. My snack includes Graham crackers (high fiber) and Arrowroot Crackers, which are very low in carbs and calories.
on 11/22/2005 Focus on your inside. A friend told me it isn't what you see on the outside. To lose weight, gain weight or whatever your issue is, remember that it is what is in your mind and heart that matters, not what you see in the mirror.
