on 11/22/2005 Garnish it. Lay it nicely on the plate. Choose beautiful foods like sliced oranges, grapes, fresh herbs, shellfish ... If you are making an Asian-inspired dish, set out pretty chopsticks and use a bamboo mat.
on 11/22/2005 Avoid the fad "low-carb" or "fasting" diets. Yes, I've done it all. You will gain the weight back and you will have awful cravings. You can eat anything you want - just monitor your calories and nutrition.
on 11/22/2005 Cutting out fat isn't enough (and your body needs some fat to stay healthy). If you consume fewer calories than your body burns, you will lose weight. So, try to maintain a relatively low-fat, low-cal, balanced diet; exercise; and drink lots of water.
on 11/22/2005 All these tips about drinking H2O are fine; but exercise is key. If you feel you don't have time to exercise, just flex your muscles while you're watching TV or while you're standing at the bus/train stop. Me? I go cycling once a week.
on 11/22/2005 When you go somewhere, look good. Put extra effort in dressing up. Look in a mirror. Boost your confidence. If you feel good about how you look, you will take better care of yourself.
on 11/22/2005 Drink lots of water! Eat fewer carbos and small, healthy snacks when you're hungry (baby carrots, salads and fruits). Take a vitamin a day. I've lost 34 lbs. in 5 weeks! Try it.
on 11/22/2005 Try on your "skinny" jeans. Remember them? Get a handheld mirror and view yourself in a full mirror from all angles. Keep this picture in your head. Or get your best friend to take photos of you. Think before your next major pig-out. Put the pics up.
on 11/22/2005 No diet will work for everybody. For some, the standard complex-carbo, lower fat, 3 meals plus snacks will work. For others, such a diet creates cravings and an incessant urge to eat. A low-carbo regimen with good-quality protein may work. Plus water.
on 11/22/2005 Swimming and water aerobics give you a great cardio workout while toning your muscles and relaxing you at the same time.Water activites are great for people of all fitness levels. If you are overweight and out of shape, start with slow easy strokes.
on 11/22/2005 The more water you drink, the less you want to eat. It also makes your skin look great. DRINK WATER!!!
on 11/22/2005 I tried the Low Carb diet and it works!!! It is not hard to stick to because the idea is so simple. Very, very few carbs. As you see the weight come off, you'll be a believer and you will rarely cheat, because you will not want to stop the weight loss.
on 11/22/2005 Record your goal of the amount of exercise you would like to do. Always try to equal or better your goal. Eat wisely. Stop when you're full!! Exercise plays an important part in weight loss, so do it, and believe in yourself!
on 11/22/2005 Drink plenty of water all daylong. In fact, mentally putwater before food. When hungry, drink first, then eat. You'll eat less. It's also importantthat you try to make your drink water or another low sugar/lowcalorie alternative. Try tea.
on 11/22/2005 I breezed through my 20s weighing 96 pounds until I reached 30 years old. I didn't worry about weight. Now I weigh 148 at age 47. I know it will be a slow process, but I've learned to like water and I walk every day.
on 11/22/2005 When having salad, do not put the dressing directly on the salad, but on the side. Dip the tines of the fork in the dressing, then into the salad. You get the flavor of the dressing, but very few calories and/or fat.
