Return to article: How to Lose Weight
on 11/22/2005 Encourage those around you wanting to lose weight because you will find that once you start complimenting them on their weight loss, no matter how small, they will always encourage you and even exercise with you! Good luck.
on 11/22/2005 Cut back on whatever it is that is so fattening to you and excercise!
on 11/22/2005 Every time you think about eating something, think about something else that you enjoy doing: watching your favorite movie, going out with a friend, etc. Just keep busy and it'll (sometimes) keep your mind off of food. You can do it! Be strong!
on 11/22/2005 Subtract your age from 220. Multiply the result by .65 for the lower bound and .85 for the upper bound. Keep your heart rate (beats per minute) between the bounds to make sure you're burning fat.
on 11/22/2005 The easiest way to lose weight is to stop eating junk food! Also, how about getting a little exercise once in a while? It's not that hard, really. Weight loss companies make tons of money from suckers who need help to lose weight.
on 11/22/2005 This site is FABULOUS -so helpful! I just started watching my carb intake as I felt addicted to them. Weighing once a week is sufficient. I walk at least 4 times a week. I used to be petite and want to be again!
on 11/22/2005 When I lost weight, occasionally I'd get discouraged because I had so much to lose. I'd picture a 1 lb. bar of butter, (or, better yet, LARD!), and knowing that I had lost however many of those really helped. I lost 65 lbs. in 8 months.
on 11/22/2005 What motivates me to lose weight is to see someone whom I admire and would (realistically) like to look like. Keep a picture out where you can see this person and remind yourself that you can look like this person too...keep that will power up! :)
on 11/22/2005 Remember: Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
on 11/22/2005 Istead of putting your food in a big plate so that the plate seems half-empty, put it in a small plate, so when you look at it, it seems as if it's a lot.
on 11/22/2005 Stop sitting on a chair reading tips on the internet...instead go out and exercise!
on 11/22/2005 Run!! you will find many new friends during your morning (or evening) exercise and you will lose weight very fast. And you will look great!
on 11/22/2005 Set small goals for yourself and have patience.
on 11/22/2005 Select one day a week to designate as your "cheat" day, in other words, eat what you want on this day. Maintain your healthy eating the rest of the week. This keeps you from getting burned out and also gives you something to look forward to.
on 11/22/2005 If you're craving something sweet or fattening, remember: It'll always be there. You can have it later; after the diet, after a week of dieting, or tomorrow if you must. There will always be a donut for you to eat...just not now!
