on 11/22/2005 Dieting is nothing compared to exercise! I only exercised three times a week (with healthy eating and some occasional cheating) and I lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks! Dieting will help you lose weight, but in a very slow way. With exercise, you can visually see the results within a week and the longer you do it, the more weight you lose and the bigger the ratio of the weight loss. Exercise kicks up your metabolism, so even if you cheat on junk food, the effect is not as harsh, and you may not even see the difference. I learned that one day of Chinese food gives me 2 pounds automatically! Also, I suggest running big time (over other exercises), because it slims you all over and works out your heart the best, cleaning out the waste in the blood. So my muscles don't cramp up, I do yoga before each workout and after each segment, because it reduces joint pain. And I end with yoga, too. Wear sneakers more often so you feel active and desiring exercising, especially really good ones with lot of support. I use the best $100 Nike's. My legs feel strong instantly, so I feel pumped. Before, I tried a few different diet pills and found out that they really are unhealthy and they physically drained me out. If you have to do it, get the ones with energy and go to the gym, but I suggest don't do them at all. Tea is better for weight loss. Don't drink soda, it's a waste of calories when you can enjoy it on a better snack. Eat oatmeal for breakfast, it fills you up, and only wheat bread over the flour breads (which goes straight to your butt). Drinking alcohol or eating pork makes you fat, too.

on 11/22/2005 When you drink water you gain weight but eventually, when you go to the bathroom, you loose all that water weight plus more! I've used this tip many times. I lost 6 pounds in 3 days!

on 12/27/2007 You know the new food pyramid, and all this talk about whole grains? Well there's one meal you can't afford to skimp on the breads: Breakfast. Eat a bagel, eat Special K, eat anything with the grains. If it's not whole grain to start your day, you're missing out.

on 11/22/2005 The real key to losing and keeping weight off is eating in less food per meal, but eating more times a day. Do not eat till you're full, eat till you're sated, and snack throughout the day. This will help increase your metabolism, which in turn burns fat. Accompany this with a regular low weight high repetition workout program and drink plenty of water and you will be losing weight in no time.

on 11/22/2005 A study has been done concluding that you need 25 gallons of ice cold water to loose just 1 pound! Yes, water is needed when exercising to keep hydrated, but I would not go on a water diet and expect weight loss.

on 11/22/2005 Even if it says fat free on the label, that doesn't mean you won't gain weight. You should look at the calories. These are what affect your weight gain. Fat free foods take off only about 10 calories compared to the original, and they also usually add something, making them less healthy. So make sure you read the nutrition labels.

on 11/22/2005 Ideally it is not good to eat before you train. Train before breakfast, when your body had fasted for eight hours. You won't have added fresh fuel to your body, so fuel will get sucked out of your fat stores. However, if pre-breakfast is not an option for you, aim to eat your last meal approximately 90 minutes to two hours before you start your workout. Why? Because if your body is digesting food as you workout, you might feel nauseous, and your body will redirect blood to your stomach to help digest the food. This is blood that really be pumping in your muscles to help you work even harder. If you feel so starved that you know you'll only dream of food while you're on the run, have a piece of fruit, like a banana (it helps you to avoid leg cramps).

on 11/22/2005 Mix up your exercise routine between running and walking. It's the combination of these two forms of exercise that are the key to losing weight. Break up the workouts to suit your schedule, but the minimum workout should 30 minutes, and maximum 60 minutes. For best results, do 60 minutes of power walking with no rests.
Alternate between walking and running, e.g. - on Monday run, Tuesday walk, Wednesday run, Thursday walk, Friday run, Saturday walk, Sunday is an off day. Repeat the cycle. Running is the best way to increase aerobic fitness, but it's hard on the body. Too much high-intensity training can cause the body to move into panic mode and hold onto weight. This is why you should mix it up with low-intensity workouts, like walking, to help the body relax.

on 11/22/2005 1. Try to eat early in the morning, in the middle of the day, and before you get ready for bed. These times would be 7:00 in the morning, 12:00 at noon, and between 5 to 6 o' clock each night.
2. Don't push yourself too hard. If you're doing a workout video or working outside, take a break when you start getting tired.
3. Do not drink water while you work out. If you do, you'll cramp.
4. Before and after working out, try to stretch out your legs, arms, head, shoulders and waist. Do daily exercises like jumping jacks, sit ups, and push ups.
5. Lift your hands after exercising. It will allow your lungs to breathe easier and your heart to go back to a steady beat.

on 11/22/2005 When trying to lose weight, remember it is what you do every day that makes a difference, not once in a while indulgences. If you fall off your diet regimen, get right back on the next day. Don't let your weak moment be an excuse to stop trying.

on 11/22/2005 I've lost weight by chewing very small mouthfuls of food until it turns to liquid. If it doesn't go thin enough to liquid, just spit it out. It works.

on 11/22/2005 For me, it's all about will power. If you are having a bad day, a weak moment or just a plain old craving, having the item staring at you in the face is just setting yourself up for failure. I have had moments of complete weakness where I would have eaten a gallon of Ben and Jerry's - tearing through the cupboards looking for something, anything bad and not on my diet, but there was nothing! 10 minutes later, the craving was gone and I grabbed an apple. If you take the steps to rid yourself of these foods, they won't even be there for you to eat!

on 11/22/2005 People make fun of you when you're big. Well, you show them! Keep in mind what they say about you and use that as your motivation to get in shape.

on 11/22/2005 If you want fast food, never order in. Ever. Make it yourself. That way, you can control what goes in, it's cheaper (surprisingly), and you spend time making it and you put thought into what you're eating. If you don't have the ingredients on hand, forget about it, but if you still want fast food, then walk to the place you want to go. Chances are, by the time you get there, you won't want it any more. If you still manage to eat it, order a smaller portion (forget about the upgrades) and walk back home.

on 11/22/2005 Caspician or hot food (spiciness) suppresses your hunger. When dieting you should try and add red hot peppers, or pepper sauce to your food. This will help you to achieve a satisfied, full feeling after your meals. Exercise is a much better cure than any miracle diet. High protein diets definitely work (biochemically), yet one of the main ways is by making the person feel ill. The high ketones in the blood make your feel bad. Eat foods that taste good, and that you have prepared yourself. High fat and sugary foods are addictive. Think about why you are eating something.
