We're new fish tank owners. We have a 20-gallon tank, and I suspect maybe it's overfeeding that's the cause of our stinky tank. The article says if food sinks to the bottom, we're overfeeding, but it sinks so quickly once you put it in there, I'm not sure this is a good measure of how much is too much. We have a couple of fish that are "hiders" as well as some new babies who don't come out to chase down the food. Currently we have three mollies, two platys and two little striped fish (I forget their names). One molly just had three babies; another is very pregnant. Any input from experienced tank keepers would be appreciated.

Good article. I have had a 65 gallon tank going for 3 years now and I always let it go too long between water changes. 5* -

Well-written article on how to to remove fish tank odor. I haven't had a fish tank in a long while, this is a good article for those who do have fish tanks!

Thanks for this important information. I really enjoy cleaning my fish tank...the vacuuming especially, it's meditative. :)
