Be extremely careful breaking up the CDs.I recommend some gloves and a pair of safety glasses. My friend got a few stitches from trying to break up CDs.

Watch out for your eyes. Pieces of plastic can fly up, and you don't want them to hit you. I did an art project last year using broken CDs, but I used an modelling knife and snapped it on the edge of the table. It didn't work too well.

You can also use any silver colored confetti. I used confetti shaped like bells. They were approximately 1 square centimeter each. I placed them next to each other. It looks great!

I grew pear-shaped gourds, dried them, painted them white, covered them with tiny cut pieces of old CDs and used them for beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.

Put the CD in the microwave, label side down, then zap it for 2-5 seconds. NO LONGER!! You might kill your microwave if you leave it in longer!! Leave it alone a couple seconds; it's HOT! Then VOILA! Insta-crackle! It looks like Revlon polish.
