on 10/25/2008 Thank you for this. Very timely for me. Michigan winter will be coming soon and I'm staring at these scruffy rose bushes that need trimming back. I have never seemed to be able to get them to branch out and fill out. Now I know, I must not have been pruning in the right spots. I just snap them at a height I thought looked good. Oops! Thank you for teaching me how to prune my roses. Much appreciated. That's on tomorrow's agenda for sure. 5 *****

on 10/25/2008 I'm so glad to learn about finding a limb with at least 4 leaves. No wonder my rose bush looks so pathetic.

on 10/19/2008 Well written article. Good job!

on 10/17/2008 The gloves are a must! I think my roses are more interested in pruning me whenever I get near them with pruning shears!
