I make my own baby wipes (you can too! with the link above). It's nice to make them yourself, and it's free of those gnarly chemicals that could further irritate diaper rash.

I just branched out and started using TruKid's Hero Stick. It's like a natural neosporin. It's loaded with plant herbs and it's been doing a phenomenal job on the diaper rash. Two days and just about clear! Great product with happy ingredients.

on 4/27/2007 be very careful using corn starch. What may look like a diaper rash may actually be a yeast infection (quite common). Using corn starch will feed the yeast and make the rash worse, not better

on 8/14/2006 Be careful using medications such as Neosporin on diaper rash, as broken skin can increase absorption of the active ingredients and be dangerous for babies! Like many others, I have found all OTC diaper creams to be ineffective. The regime that works for my little guy is wiping with paper towels soaked only in water, baking soda bath, then completely air drying his bottom (even for just 15 minutes), and finally applying a thick layer of Lansinoh pure lanolin, the type sold for breastfeeding mothers to use for nipple soreness. This regime works wonders!

The first part cleans and dries baby's skin, the second part aids healing.

on 8/8/2006 Hi parents,
Ask your doctors to prescribe Nysatin/Trimcinolone Creme for your baby to treat diaper rash. It worked wonders after I'd tried all other cremes on my little one!

on 6/30/2006 My mother had told me to use Neosporin on my newborns rash. He had it for 2 weeks, and it just never got any better with Balmex and such. I tried the Neosporin and it had cleared up in about 24 hours. He has not had a diaper rash since, and he is now almost 5 months old!

on 1/24/2006 After 5 kids I should be an expert at this! After overcoming the terrible guilt you feel of allowing your child to get a diaper rash, or screaming very loudly to whoever was responsible, get your self together and find a bottle of Vick's VapoRub, yes, that's right; Vick's VapoRub. Clean your baby thoroughly, shower if necessary and apply a thin layer of Vick's VapoRub to the area affected. Apply the diaper and do the same every 2 hours or at every diaper change. I assure you 100% your baby will thank you. In less than 24 hours the whole thing is almost completely gone.

on 11/22/2005 After finding Desitin and AD Ointment to be ineffective, my doctor suggested Calmoseptine. It is over the counter, but you have to ask the pharmacist for it. My doctor also suggested a quick bath, with no soap, after each bowel movement and using Bounty paper towels, instead of baby wipes.

on 11/22/2005 I am having a rough time getting my daughter-in-law to use cornstarch. My mom had used it for all six of her children, and I have used it for all five of my kids. It has worked wonderfully. I urge all mothers to use only cornstarch for diaper rash.

on 11/22/2005 I was told to put 1 teaspoon
vinegar and 1 cup water in a spray bottle. Spray on rash let air dry then put cornstarch
on the rash. Vinegar helps dry the rash faster and cornstarch to help keep the area dry. Try it. Helped me....

on 6/11/2007 My grandmother told me to try cornstarch on the baby's bottom. Just powder the bottom with dry cornstarch. It worked for me.

on 11/22/2005 For an easy but very effective way to help with diaper rash, sit the baby in a sink of tea and soak their bottom in the tea.

on 11/22/2005 I had tried all sorts of creams, but pure corn starch worked best. Wash baby's bottom with wet paper towels - not wipes, then apply corn starch.

on 11/22/2005 I have found the most wonderful product in the world for diaper rash. The product is called Happy Bottoms Diaper Rash Spray and you spray it on rather than use your fingers. Excellent ingredients - find it at www.happybottoms.com.
