on 8/31/2008 Good article. I just caught some flak for letting a little nephew taste mint, oregano and rosemary from the garden. Yikes!

on 8/19/2008 I agree with you and feel that garden centers should have warning lables with some of the plants that they sell. I have several books on hand for my gardening so I can tell which are okay to have around my children. Thank you very much for writing this article!

on 8/15/2008 Thanks for posting this article. There were a couple that I didn't know myself. It is ridiculous that there are no warnings on plants that you buy. I have just about stopped purchasing any plants from chain stores unless I know all the info about the plant before hand. Asking anyone working there and they couldn't tell you an oak from a petunia. Maybe stretching it but it might as well be true. I stick to local greenhouses when checking out plants that I don't know. Not only does it apply to whether the plant is poisonous but also the weather conditions the plant needs. Just because a label says full sun, doesn't necessarily mean full sun in the southeastern part of Georgia where I live. I have lost many a plant because of those labels. 5 Star article, Dusty!
