on 8/31/2008 Thanks for the research!! It reminds me of a true story. A school class in Tienen, Belgium, AFTER THE STUDENTS THEMSELVES DID A RESEARCH ON THE ORIGINS OF HALLOWEEN, were asked by their teacher if they still wanted to celebrate Halloween. Unanimously, the class responded: "NO!" One student remarked: "Its gruesome!" Another student said: "I did not realize that Halloween shows so little respect for the people who have died." Its too bad the majority of parents don't disclose the truth about this "cloaked" celebration -- the children might feel the same as those in Belgium did!

on 8/16/2008 Thanks for offering a little history of the holiday. I happen to enjoy the modern celebration of it and choose to celebrate it with my kids, but I agree that it should be a conscious decision.
