Return to article: How to Build an 'Uber' Computer for Under $400
on 10/5/2008 Thanks for the compliments and the tips. Yes, I did get that exact motherboard/processor kit for $59 at Fry's Electronics in Dallas, TX a couple months ago. Between my family and friends we got 4 of them! It was an 'Uber' sweet deal. You have to watch the Fry's newspaper ads on Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun. They run terrific sales, but you have to get their early because they sell out fast. I got all these parts at Fry's and NewEgg for the exact prices shown above by keeping an eye out for sales.
on 10/4/2008 Where did you find all those parts at? Must have been one heck of a sale to get the processor and motherboard for $60. Also, no one needs 4 GB of RAM unless you are running Windows Vista 64 Bit. Windows XP and Vista 32 Bit will only use 2 GB of the RAM you have. Otherwise, very detailed and well written article.
