on 11/22/2005 Use 100-percent cotton sheets, pillow cases, etc. It dries better and faster. No streaks, and can also last longer than paper towels and without the "fuzz." One hand-towel-sized sheet will last much longer than many paper towels.

on 11/22/2005 I do windows like you, but use a tea towel wrapped around a window mop to get any streaks since I have very high windows.

on 11/22/2005 The man who came to professionally clean our windows back in the '70s said he always uses Palmolive liquid dish soap for streakless windows. So with any other recipe using liquid soap, try his brand name recommendation. (It cost him a job with us)!

on 11/22/2005 When washing windows, instead of newspapers with dirty ink that turns hands black, get the "end rolls" from your local newspaper. Same paper, no ink, and it's usually free.

on 11/22/2005 Wash the inside of the windows in one direction, the outside in the other - then you know which side has the streak.

on 11/22/2005 We have 12-foot ceilings with windows way beyond our reach. While using a squeegee with an extension, I still noticed some streaks. This was quickly eliminated when I wrapped a slightly damp (clean) towel and around the squeegee.

on 11/22/2005 Use 1/4 cup of white wine per gallon of water. Pour this into spray bottle for easy application. Spray window generously and use newspapers to clean the window. There'll be no streaks; windows'll be so clean, it'll seem like there are no windows.

on 11/22/2005 To make sure you windows and mirrors are streak free, use the old newspapers you have been saving in the recycling bin - they leave no fuzzy lint and keep the glass shiny. If you use vinegar, too, that makes them stay streak free, and keep the bathroom sm

on 11/22/2005 To remove hard water spots, Lime-Away works great! Just squirt some on the window and use a scrubber sponge to remove water spots.

on 11/22/2005 Wax your windows with a product
called Gel-Gloss, which is used
for polishing fiberglass tubs.
You can purchase it at a Home Depot. It's also great on mirrors - no need to Windex; just wipe spots off.

on 11/22/2005 As a professional window cleaner for 20 years, my tip is: To remove hard-water marks from glass, use dry (with no water) 000 fine steel wool. Clean the glass before and after. (Also rotating screens will eliminate a lot of hard-water marks.)
