Return to article: How to Get a Baby to Sleep
on 10/5/2008 great tips and ideas! www.deliveringonthepromise.com/aherr
on 10/4/2008 As for white noise, it only works for the first few months (if you're lucky). A vacuum cleaner also works very well, for the record.
on 10/4/2008 I've watched my neighbor sit on her big exercise ball, holding her baby, and gently bounce. That baby falls asleep in minutes, every time. Try to relax (sometimes easier said than done), babies pick up on tension.
on 10/4/2008 good article
on 9/17/2008 Good article and suggestions.........thank you.
on 9/11/2008 One of most overlooked reasons babies have difficulty falling asleep is due to tension. When mom or dad or the household is full of stress, anxiety and tension babies soak those vibes like a little sponge. Make sure that you and your home are relaxed and baby will be relaxed. We all fall asleep naturally when the atmosphere around us is relaxed, and babies are not exception.
on 9/2/2008 The best way i have found to get a baby to sleep is to put them on there tummy in your lap and boune them gently and rub there back and theyare off to sleep.
on 8/25/2008 good suggestions; mommies need their rest, too :)
on 8/18/2008 Many good suggestions that parents with babies are sure to appreciate. With my last baby, I had to resort to co-sleeping for a few months after trying nearly every other option (I hadn't tried the laundry trick in step #10). The good thing is that the sleepless nights don't last forever.
on 8/9/2008 Awesome suggestions, I'm going to try these out, thanks
on 8/3/2008 Great information on some points if you gave birth to your child; however, if you adopted your child either domestically or internationally, only a few of these tricks (combined with many others) will work for you.
on 7/29/2008 Great tips. I have used several of those lately. music, bath, a small night light. They work wonders.
on 7/23/2008 Great Article.Thanks.I also blog @http://lifeasafirsttimeparent.blogspot.com
on 7/21/2008 Great advice - I'm afraid I fall into the "nurse your baby to sleep" and she is not happy about falling asleep without it! I'll have to try some of these other techniques, thank you for such an extensive list!
on 9/24/2007 hmmm - well, I've 'trained' a lot of babies to sleep. rocking, driving, dancing, all these techniques just prolong their ability to get there on their own. You need to pay attention to the signals that they are alseep, get them on a schedule, and they will sleep when you put them in their bed - for a good refreshing nap too!
