on 11/22/2005 Rather than a comb, use a hacky sack, and with some force, rub it into the hickey. It removes it in miracle fashion!

on 11/22/2005 Take your toothbrush and scrub toothpaste on it for about an hour. It should be gone the next day or so.

on 11/22/2005 Everyone likes showing off hickeys, but when you're about to meet her parents for the first time, you need some fast ways to get rid of it. So here's how I do it: 1) Try putting an ice cube on a spoon and massaging. 2) Heat the spoon and do the same. If neither of those work, 3) break up some aspirin and add a little bit of water and toothpaste. Mix it then spread it wherever the hickey is.

on 11/22/2005 I haven't seen any mention of those dark, purple/greenish, bruise looking hickeys. So when I received one that looked like I'd gotten punched in the neck, it had to go. After looking over these tips, here's what I decided to do:

Remember the steps; I.D.E.A.
1. ICE - Get the affected area numb.
2. DRY - Pat the skin thoroughly dry.
3. ERASE - Use 'pencil eraser' trick.
4. ASSESS - Check over your progress.

With the pencil eraser...Starting from the center of the hickey, press the eraser firmly against your skin and twist about a 1/2 turn. When moving to the next spot, lift the eraser completely away from the skin and place for the next twist. Do not rush!

If the process becomes painful, rest as you ice the hickey before continuing. REMEMBER: Dry your skin! Starting in the center helps to dissipate the clot of ruptured capillaries. As you spiral out from the center, you may need to go back and do some touching up with the eraser.

My results from this were IMMEDIATE! However, there was a spot where I didn't dry my skin, and the eraser left what looked like a burn. Everyone asked what it was from, but since I'm a welder, I got by with the truth: "I'm a welder, it's a burn." So, take your time.

on 11/22/2005 I used a wash cloth with hot water as a compress and then I used a hair brush to get my blood circulating and repeated the cycle. It worked for me...

on 11/22/2005 Tell your parents that you fell off a bike and that's how you got that nasty bruise on your neck!

on 11/22/2005 I had so many on my neck that I looked like I had been choked! I typed 'get rid of a hickey' on my computer and this site came up, and I read them all. I used the ice, but it didn't really help and I did it for hours the day before. I used the tip for the hot towel, and it WORKED! Use a hot towel - hold it there, repeat a few times and pow, it's gone!

on 11/22/2005 I applied toothpaste, let it sit about 10 minutes, and gently rubbed off with my toothbrush. Dry skin THOROUGHLY, then do the frozen spoon thing (if you don't have dry skin you risk, ripping your "frozen" skin off). Then I semi-heated some water and applied a hot compress to the bruise. It has faded - like it's been there for 3 - 4 days. :)

on 11/22/2005 It kinda hurts, but putting on some toothpaste helps in cooling the pain and also reducing the redness. (Apparently this also works for zits!) Afterwards, just take a spoon that was in the freezer for at least an hour, then massage the hickey with it in a circular motion. I read all these suggestions one day and this was one that seriously helped. It wasn't miraculous or anything, but it went away faster than what everyone said!

on 11/22/2005 I've never tried it, but I've seen people take a fine-toothed comb and comb their hickeys. According to them, it works! Me, I just wait for them to fade away.

on 11/22/2005 Rub peanut butter on it...Leave it on for a while and it'll make the hickey fade.

on 11/22/2005 1. Place the eraser side of a pencil on the hickey.
2. Apply pressure and rotate the eraser back and forth (like locking and unlocking a door). This may hurt.
3. Rub gently with ice once the hickey disappears to get rid of redness and pain.

on 11/22/2005 VINEGAR! Soak a cotton swab or makeup pad in vinegar and rub it on the hickey. I did it like 3 times one day and the next morning it was gone!
