on 11/22/2005 I have heard that if you get a hickey and want to get rid of it, you can put fingernail polish on it. Just paint it with fingernail polish and let it dry. Then, take fingernail polish remover and scrub it. It takes a little longer than other ways, but it has worked for a bunch of my friends.

on 11/22/2005 I used toothpaste until it burned so much that I couldn't take it, then I wiped it off. I did the ice thing for about 10 minutes, then I rubbed it in a circular motion with a brush. Finally, I did the ice thing again, for about 15 minutes. It has mostly disappeared.

on 11/22/2005 To get rid of a hickey, get some ice and put it on the hickey. Rub it around and put some powder on (using a lighter color than your skin).

on 11/22/2005 This can be done in two ways.

First way:

1. Get some toothpaste and rub it into the hickey.

2. Leave it on while you do the next step.

3. Get a makeup removal pad or a cotton pad and put toothpaste all over it.

4. Wash the toothpaste on your neck off.

5. Stick the cotton pad to your neck with tape.

6. In the morning (or about 1 hour after you applied the cotton pad), take it off and wash your neck.

7. Keep doing this periodically.

2nd way:

1. Get some toothpaste and rub it into your hickey.

2. Leave it on for 1/2 hour, then wash it off. If you don't want the toothpaste showing, let your hair down.

3. Do this periodically for a day. If it hasn't gone down much, just keep doing this for another day.

on 11/22/2005 To remove my unsightly hickeys, I iced the areas until they were numb and then used a water bottle cap to apply pressure. I rotated the cap back and forth across the area. Repeat this several times, depending on the severity of the "love mark." While this didn't remove them completely, they faded noticeably.

on 11/22/2005 The hairbush felt weird, the spoon made me feel silly, and the sugar water was only tasty. My friend told me about the toothpaste and I tried it last night, but all it did was make my neck sticky. I found that the toothpaste idea was actually on the right track. The best chance you have is concealer. If your skin is really light and your concealer doesn't quite match the skin, put on some toothpaste, dab it with a tissue, and then put the concealer on the white. This worked for me. My boyfriend's parents didn't even notice, and they were right next to me.

on 11/22/2005 I have only had one hickey. My mom said that this worked, so I tried it and it worked great for me. Take an icy soda and roll it on the hickey. Make sure you apply enough pressure so that you are working the blood and getting it to move, or it won't break it up. You are trying to get the blood away from the surface of your skin. Good luck, and behave from now on! ;)

on 11/22/2005 On my way home from my guy friend's house, I was desperately trying to find some way to cover the purple mess so my mother didn't see it. Thankfully, she was asleep. Thinking fast, I typed in "How to get rid of a hickey" on my computer. After reading all 56 tips, I devised my own plan. This is how I got rid of my "hoover job:"

1. I used an extremely hot paper towel/wash cloth heated in the microwave.

2. I rubbed that lipstick cap thing on it. I don't know if it worked, but it looked so much better after 2 rounds of the hot paper towel.

3. I used some ice, thinking it might help.

4. I tried toothpaste. Why not?

5. I waited until it was almost dry and then used the hot towel again.

6. I used good old Aqua-Smooth (a cover-up) on the fading purple beast.

This really worked well, and I can now finally go to sleep with out worrying about "death by mother" in the morning.

on 11/22/2005 I used this trick on a day-old hickey (so I don't know if that had something to do with it), but I took a round brush and rubbed it on my neck in a sort of up and down circular motion, and it went away almost completely. Then, I took a towel, wet it with scalding hot water, and applied it with pressure over the hickey. I repeated the process once or twice, and it is almost completely gone. Anything left can be covered with concealer.

on 11/22/2005 I have tried almost everything that you could possibly do, but I have learned that it is all in your head. The only thing that works for you is whatever you think looks the best and whatever gets the job done fast. I found that toothpaste is a sure thing. Take a dab of paste (NOT gel) and rub it in, let it stand for about an hour, and massage it off with a warm wash cloth. Most of the redness should be gone. Good Luck!

on 11/22/2005 Get a small towel and rinse it in HOT water, then rub it up and down on the hickey repeatedly. If you look in a mirror, you will see that it slowly disappears.

on 11/22/2005 Right before I went to bed, I put toothpaste on it and left it on overnight. After that, I put a frozen spoon on it, and it went away completely. Trust me, it totally works! =)

on 11/22/2005 The morning after, if you take a comb and comb up and down over the hickey, it will circulate the blood. After a while, the hickey will become a light pink. Use a light concealer and pat it over the hickey. You will barely notice it.

on 11/22/2005 I only had about 5 hours to get rid of the hickey on my neck. My dad would FLIP if he saw another one on me, and he would probably call my boyfriend!

Apply vinegar with a Q-Tip in an up and down motion for about 15 seconds. Use an old toothbrush to make a cicular motion over the hickey while applying small amounts of pressure. Do this about every half hour and you'll be good!

on 11/22/2005 I tried just about everything on this site... and most of them didnt work. The hair curler idea is a good one-say its a burn mark...
The ice didnt totally clear it up, but it was the best. I had 2, one was REALLY dark. The ice cut out te darkness, but it was still there. Two days later it was gone. it lookedd like one that would have lasted for a good week befre the ice though.
