It might be all in my mind, but I try to brush out anything in the cavity... swish with room temp water... then swish apple sauce (room temp). Trying to work the apple sauce into the cavity. Sounds crazy, but it works for me.

None of the above suggestions had the slightest positive affect of relieving any pain what so ever. Matter of fact the warm water aggravated it to 3 fold what the pain was before I did the warm water

further info !! garlic and anbosol and bonjella ect , naf!!! well actualy you may want to try them but for me they didnt work , ie' bonjela just runs of the area especialy where ya dnt want it to go and anbasol type products taste bloody awfull and make you feel worse cuz stings ya mouth, gums ect and just makes you more cheesed of !! , so like my other comment i sudgest you try cold water in a container with ice in and just keep swishing area , or the blue tack in the affected hole , area!! think about it , sensative tooth with cold or hot air going in, blocked by blue tack , job done , there is only one downside to using blue tack is that it may be anoying to feal it with your tongue , but if you have a filling thats fell out, or a chip then blue tack also is great at stoping your tongue from fealing the anoying crack!! so give it a go !!

ive tried everyhing mentioned on lots of bulletin boards and the very best pain releif that ive found out through personal experience with tooth ache is this; for temp pain relief swish some very cold water on pain area , this works very well and with ice in the water it works for longer but will help whilst tablets are kicking in , but my very best advice and i'm not kidding either !!, is to fill the tooth ache hole with blue tack!!, yes blue tack , it's like a tempory filling that may fall out when you eat so just replace it with a bit more when it does fall out , and there you go its great !!, and really helps untill you can get a propper filling done or have the tooth out !!!

After reading that reflexology can help, I tried it. I massaged the bottom of my toes and feet, paying extra attention to the two big toes and my toothache started subsiding in 2 minutes and in 15 minutes it was completely gone.

Try to eat something warm (not hot), it seems to help. If it is too painful to chew, choose something soft, like porridge. I find that by the time I've finished a bowlful of porridge, the pain starts to subside. Obviously, if you eat something sugary or acidic, the pain just gets worse. Plain, milky porridge is probably best.

Rub a good helping of Anbesol adult strength gel to the sore area. Then place one paracetamol tablet between cheek and sore area. By the time the tablet dissolves, the pain should be gone.

on 8/17/2006 Try gargling with salt water or Anadin (ultra).

on 8/7/2006 I use mouthwash. Any antiseptic kind will do. I find that it numbs the nerve endings that may be inflamed until you can get to a dentist.

on 11/22/2005 Place a cube of ice between the index finger and thumb. It relieves the pain almost instantly.
