Return to article: How to Write a Love Letter
on 10/10/2008 Love letters, oh how I cherish them. This article really points out some great points, although the best love letters (to date) my husband ever gave me were the sticky notes that were short and sweet, the notes on hotel note pads from when I was asleep (he always loves me so much when I am asleep...I do talk quite a bit), and the ones written on the backs of pages from his army survival guide when he took a hiking and canoeing trip in the boundary waters. They transcend their medium because they have genuine beauty in their expression. I only worry that, because some of them are written in pencil that I won't be able to read them forever. The moral of the story is to write from the heart. If certain things come naturally but isn't the standard way of doing things, you should do it anyway. Your darling loves you for you. Good article.
on 10/4/2008 Does this really work? Interesting, very Interesting.
on 7/25/2008 I don't quite think that ALL of this should be taken into account, and theres no need to hire anybody to show your love... just be honest and open. state how you feel and what you want. be nice, don't give them pages worth, (unless you've been going out for some time.)
on 7/24/2008 I don't have time to do the above. I went for pre-printed love notes. I got a box for me and a box for my husband. May not sound romantic, but I wasn't complaining when he left me a note saying "Let's go away for the weekend"!!! I got the notes from Love Expression USA at http://www.love-expressions-usa.com
on 3/31/2008 Pen and ink? How quaint! I may have to try it.
on 3/14/2008 I will have to try this, I have never got the nerve before. Thank you.
on 2/6/2008 I enjoyed the article and your writing style. And to think I just finished an article (pending) on how to grab the best free love poems off the Net. I feel slimy right now. LOL But I go where demand takes me. :-)
on 2/6/2008 And don't forget that this is supposed to be a GIFT of love. It is not a resume, nor an accurate reflection of who you really are, take it or leave it. It's a way to show your beloved that you are willing to put your heart on the line for him/her, to set down in writing things that s/he longs to hear. So keep it true, but make it the best of the truth only, nothing harsh - make it something s/he can go back to over and over again and always feel deeply understood, appreciated, attractive, and loved. :-)
on 2/6/2008 How romantic! Receiving a card or a love letter from my spouse every now and then after 15 years of being married is still something that I enjoy and cherish. Writing a love letter seems to be a dying art. I feel for the younger generations who had not experienced this type of wooing. Somehow, even how poetic you are, email just doesn't cut it :)
on 2/5/2008 It always helps to have a glass of wine while you write your letter! It helps to get the juices flowing! Still unsure of what to say? Inspirational writing prompts should help. http://www.blueskypapers.com/keepsake-books/love-prompts.html
