on 4/2/2009 Make sure you replace your belts often. As the belt ages it gets looser and larger causing the brushroll to slow down or stop spinning.

on 1/26/2009 The professionals at Payless Carpet Cleaners provide information and tips in regards to carpet cleaning. Refer to http://www.payless-carpet-cleaners.com or if located in the South Florida region contact by telephone at (305)503-5868 or (954)671-1050.

on 1/13/2009 Check the height setting on your vacuum cleaner if it has a beater bar. You want it set high enough that dust beaten out of the carpet will be sucked into the vacuum cleaner. If you set it too low it will just beat the dust into the pad.

on 10/19/2008 There was no mention of checking the vacuum filter, which many models have. Your vacuum won't work well or last very long if you don't keep this clean.

on 1/12/2007 My pet house rabbits like to make messes with their Timothy hay! What I need is a vacuum that can handle sucking up pieces of hay off a carpet without clogging. Does anyone know of models that can chew up the hay in the beater brush mechanism before sucking it up into the vacuum? I'm serious!

on 1/30/2006 To make the room smell fresher, I add a cotton ball saturated in essential oil-eucalyptus or lavender (are my favorites) into the vacuum bag.

on 1/9/2008 We used to have two dogs and we vacuumed them every time we vacuumed the floor. They loved it and it kept the house cleaner.

on 11/22/2005 If your carpet is starting to unravel at the ends, apply clear nail polish and it should hold the carpet to the binding longer. After applying the nail polish, take your scissors and trim down your excess fray.

on 11/22/2005 If you have pets, the best thing to do before you vacuum is sprinkle baking soda on your carpet. Let it sit, then vacuum. It's a lot cheaper then carpet fresheners and does the same thing.

on 11/22/2005 Don't set your vacuum cleaner too close to the floor. It will beat the dirt into the padding. Using a higher setting allows dirt to be beat into the air where it can be sucked into the vacuum bag.

on 11/22/2005 If you have long hair and find that your vaccum is not working quite like it used to, lay the vaccum on its side and remove the belt. There is probably hair wrapped around the area that the belt uses to hold itself on.
